The day before Thanksgiving is often regarded as the busiest travel day of the year for Americans.
Just how busy?
AAA recently released its travel forecast for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday using this great infographic:
If you’re not in charge of cooking the turkey, many people (myself included) prefer to travel on Thanksgiving Day since flights and roads tend to be less crowded. Unfortunately, travelers will only see a slight cost savings in the already-inflated holiday airfares to depart Thursday instead of Wednesday (about $20-30).
But this year, I’m staying home.
After jet-setting the globe since mid-September there’s something refreshing about actually putting the suitcase away instead of just switching out the clothes that are in it.
Until next month, anyway.
